Why Family Days are so Important

This past weekend was a fun and productive weekend for my little family. Bryce & I work five days a week for 9-10 hours a day and three days out of the week my husband also goes to school so our time as a family is limited which makes me pretty upset. A two-day weekend just isn’t enough time for us to enjoy each other’s company as a family so this past weekend was pretty amazing because we got to spend all weekend together!

I know people who aren’t really keen on spending too much time with their families or significant other, but for me personally, I can’t get enough of those precious moments. I grew up in a really tight-knit family so having those family days are so important for me. My mom, sisters and I used to always get pedicures and lunch a few times a month and my dad and I used to gamble at the casinos or go to a shooting range which was his way of bonding, but nonetheless we had some great quality time together. As family we LOVE seafood and we’d plan a monthly lunch or dinner and just feast on seafood around the table. Those were my favorite moments.

I think it’s important to spend as much time with Rylee because as she grows up, I want her to know that family time is the most important time and even though my husband and I are always working, we still find time to spend together. The last thing I want is Rylee thinking that we’re not spending enough time with her because we make every effort to spend as much time with her as we can.

This past weekend we took a stroll at the park, ate pretzels and enjoyed the 75 degree weather and obviously watched the Super Bowl on Sunday! Go Eagles!
